WORTH THE PRICE OF ADMISSION

This ‘photo documentary’ is a reflection of my first trip to Africa. The trip included visiting Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, Chobe National Park, the Linyanti region and the Okavango Delta, all in northern Botswana.

All of my senses were awestruck by the animals, the fauna, the birds, the time of day and where we were. I kept repeating over and over again to our host: “This is worth the price of admission.”

I am quite proud of this work, a combination of a documentary and an artistic effort designed to envelop the reader in the country. Each time a new creature is encountered in a section of the documentary, the Tswana word for that creature is overlaid on the photo. I also had some fun with a few of the photos themselves and their titles. It is worthwhile reading the extensive introduction to gain a fuller understanding of my initial experience of Africa.
